“Out, Out-“

The theme of “Out, Out-” by Robert Frost is that Life goes one. This poem is a great example of that, showing that when something tragic happens you don’t need to mourn forever, instead you need to get on with your life. The boy dies, yet everybody just goes back to doing what they were doing. You have to let things go and live your life to the fullest.

My Hearing

My Hearing

To me my hearing the most important sense. When we are in the car my moms phone will be on vibrate. If someone calls or text her and she wouldn’t know. But I can hear it. Also when one of my cats are locked up some where and we don’t know where, I can hear them.

If I lost this sense I would be very lost. I probably wouldn’t know when to get up in the morning because I usually listen for the birds outside, T.V in the living room,my mother yelling my name or my alarm clock. If you lose your hearing I usually look at it as your whole world just suddenly went on mute!

If some one lost their hearing most likely would you use sigh language. A lot of people that lose their hearing depend on their

eyes. Some people lose their hearing from very loud sounds like explosions, extremely loud music and maybe even to many ear infections.

I don’t know what I would do if I lost my hearing. The one thing I would miss the most is hearing my family’s voices and hearing them tell me they love me. I am very glade I have all of my senses!

My Grandfather

My Grandfather

My favorite moment of Christmas break was when my brother and I had to stay with our mamaw and papaw at the lake. My mamaw was in the kitchen,my brother was playing with his action figures, and my papaw and I were watching New Moon. Then out of no where my papaw said,”So who is the vampire and who is the werewolf?”. I knew this was heading down hill fast.

“He is the werewolf and he is the vampire.”,I said pointing to the T.V. I knew this was going to take some time time so i tried to explain it like i was talking to a two year old.
”How can he be a vampire? He does not have red eyes! Where are his fangs?”.
”Okay,Papaw. Listen these are different so they don’t have red eyes and you cant really see they’re fangs, but they’re there.”
So now i was thinking we were done when all of  a sudden,”I don’t understand! If a werewolf bites you then your a werewolf?”.
”No,that only works with vampires.”.All I wanted was to watch a movie but since i could not I was thinking I might as well stop and go ride my bike.
”Why is he so pale?”. Would this ever end?.
”Because he is dead.”.
”What? How can he be dead?”.
”Because when they bite you the venom kills you, like it stops your heart.”
”Okay, well i still don’t get it. I’m going out side.”

Finally I’m free!

I love my grandparents but it is hard to live with them.

Honduras

As I hear the roar of the engine and get butterfly’s in my stomach,i knew we were officially off to Honduras.

Seven members from my church went on the trip;

Mr.Quintin,Mrs.Chrissa and her son Dallas,Mrs.Kathy and her son Dawson,my mom and me.
After our two and a half hour plane ride,we arrived safely in Honduras. It was intimidating walking through the airport. First everyone spoke Spanish! Secondly everyone was staring at us because we were different.
After getting settled on he bus we enjoyed a three hour bus ride up the steep, rocky mountains. The view was a beautiful site to see, however the houses were made of mud or concrete and trash was every where. there were cows and chickens randomly by the road, even a one legged chicken.
we arrived in Santa Rosa and settled in our hotel. our hotel was an opened area with live turtles that roamed the hotel.

The swimming pool was on the roof!

Monday morning the first school to visit was El Rosario. It wasn’t all that big but at least they had a play ground. The students worked hard with what they had. The schools toilets didn’t flush they used buckets to pour the water in and the kids stayed late to clean the class rooms.

The second school was Los Angeles. The children were very sweet. They enjoyed our company and asked us a lot of questions.

The third and poorest school was Las Crucitas. There was only two rooms in the school to hold k-sixth. It was very crowded, and the building was in poor condition. The third through sixth grade room was one concrete wall and two walls with wooden slates and a tin roof! and mud and dirt as a floor.

The last school was Yarishin. The students seamed less motivated to attend school.I was shocked when I saw kids running in the streets with ripped clothes and not dressed for school.

I’ve learned to appreciate what I have because the kids there have nothing like we do,but what ever they do have they use it to the fullest and are full of joy and life.

Fire

FIRE

the birds sang that song
as they do every morning
but the flames got higher
and hotter

it was sad to watch
their nest get destroyed
as they flew away in the smoke

people were packing
people were dieing
and people were losing their homes

it was spreading
and spreading
as the men worked 24/7
there grew more and more
